Air going across the surface of the car doesn't build up nearly as much friction as another substance might, so wax really has little benefit other than it makes the vehicle look good.

There isn't that much friction on the surface of a car that would restrict air flow enough to make up +2mpg...never ever.! Throw that premise to science and watch them lick their collective chops. Silliness...
