The 1972-73 Arab oil embargo almost brought almost all of the developed nations (Europe, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, etcetara) to their very knees because so many of these countries depended so greatly on oil from the Middle East. Now this consortium wants to build solar and wind electric power production facilities providing 20% of European electricity in the very same area where this source of energy will again be captive to the very unstable governments that are in this region. This plan is ludicrous.
