The end creeps ever closer...time to refresh with last season so we're ready...I can't imagine how Dexter will end...maybe he'll just quietly move somewhere else and continue...?? Already missing Dex...

That's funny. Special Agent Lundy's first name is Frank too.

Sorry, I was referring to his role on Criminal Minds (he played Frank--probably the most prolific serial killer there was). Serial killers--they're everywhere!! I'll have to watch more to catch up! :)

Seriously, how can Keith Carradine be FBI & a serial killer?? He's been at it longer than Dex!! At least Dex doesn't leave "wind Chimes."

I agree with you Roadjet, Ray Stevenson did a great job as Issak. He had the menancing warrior exterior with the conflicted emotional interior.

Definitely didn't see that ending coming. I watched the entire past season in a week thanks to my DVR so it really few by. I really liked Ray Stevenson's character. Weird to see an Irishman playing Russian.

Finally caught up and saw the season finale.
Definitely some flaws in the storyline, but an interesting twist for next season with Deb being the one who killed the annoying Le Guerta.
Also, much of Dexter this year appears to have been shot in Long Beach, Ca., not Miami. They had been using more Long Beach exterior shots the past few seasons but this year it appears to be all Long Beach. For a Southern California resident, it was distracting.
But I can't wait to see what they bring us next season!

I was just wondering about Deb this morning. Maybe she gets promoted to Captain to take LaGuerta's place. Did LaGuerta pass on any copies of the DVD to Matthews, before meeting her demise.
How will Dexter cope with his corrupting of his sister, let alone how will Deb cope with it?
Never expected her to shoot LaGuerta, that was way out of left field.
I think they should bring Hannah back, or at least wrap up her character, somehow. Really liked the scene between her and Deb at the courthouse too.

Wow indeed! Deb certainly has gone down the path of no return. My guess is she will be gone in the next season somehow.
Also, Dexter visiting Hannah in jail, umm, sorry but a face to face visit seems unlikely, let alone her being able to bite his lip in an embrace.
Yeah I didn’t buy the face to face with Hannah either.
...not sure LaGuerta would have gone to the docks without backup.
I think LaGeurta didn’t call for backup is because she was already shunned for arresting Dexter in the first place and maybe she felt she could vindicate her and Doakes with a supercop arrest. Personally I’m glad she’s gone, her character ran the course and I was tired of her.
No idea why she would have brought Dexter through the Miami Metro offices and not into a normal booking area, though I guess they sometimes bring perpetrators in for questioning there.
Yeah I often see uniform officers bringing in people in handcuffs and they bring in people for questioning all the time at the desks or of course in the interview rooms we always see.
From your previous post... makes sense on why Dexter wasn’t spotted... I hadn’t thought of that. I had thought of Deb drugging her own bottle. She was going hard to arrest Hannah but the crash was too serious and I didn’t buy it. I suppose she could have done over did it never intending to have a rollover... just a little crash but I didn’t think it was her style. Anyways, the answer to that was answered right away by Hannah when she admitted she did it... which brings forth the question will she be returning in the next season or is she gone with her final scene offering a flower to Dex as a parting gift?

Finally got caught up on the season finale, and all I can say is F* me twice on Sunday (well Tuesday in this case), but WOW!
Never saw the complete fall from grace of Deb, though her moral compass was way off, her final act to defend Dexter and her career, was totally unexpected.
A few show flaws, not sure LaGuerta would have gone to the docks without backup.

"Another question for me, if LeGuerta was still fixed on Dexter and she had one officer tailing the guy Dex wanted to kill, why wasn’t Dexter spotted?"
Probably because Dexter was already there before the other guy showed up, but yeah she might have thought to have Dexter tailed too.
I was thinking the water bottle would come back clean and Hannah possibly innocent. Unless, Deb drugged her own water bottle in trying to get Dexter to turn Hannah in.

Don’t understand why Dexter turned Hannah in since she knows what he is. Not 100% sure it was her that drugged Deb but then again, who else could it have been? Deb drinking the water was kinda thrust into the viewer’s face, the foreshadowing was obvious even to me. Another question for me, if LeGuerta was still fixed on Dexter and she had one officer tailing the guy Dex wanted to kill, why wasn’t Dexter spotted? Close call, he almost got nailed this time.

So once again Dexter's search for a partner blows up in his face.
Will be interesting to see how Hannah handles being charged with murder and turned in by Dexter. Will she implicate him in the withholding of evidence?
Now we add a couple more people to the list of people who know Dexter's true colors.
Will Dexter go after LaGuerta to save his skin?

I could have sworn that this was the last season of Dexter. If it was really ending after this season I'd think that they would be touting the next episode as the SERIES finale instead of the SEASON finale.

I'm going to guess that Matthews is the kind of old school cop who would remain loyal to Harry and not reveal Dexter, plus he probably only hired LaGuerta for political reasons in the first place. Like when he commented, let me tell Dexter, so you don't screw it up. Not a lot of respect for LG.

Will Matthews support LG and bring Dex down, or will he team up with Dex/Deb and even Angel if he finds out to bring LG down? Think of how many people she has burned...Either way, Matthews gets his job back.

It was a bit of a transcendent episode as Dexter seemingly abandoned both the Code and the Dark Passenger.
I liked the line about government workers never missing a break, how 'bout you Pup? lol
And Dexter's classic reply to Hannah..."I think I love you too." Perfect.

Cool episode this week. Hannah’s Dad was quite the character. When Dex told him to watch it... “You don’t want to see my bad side”, I was way ahead of him on that. Any time I see someone giving Dex a rough time I’m thinking “Oh man, you don’t want to piss him off buddy.” Interesting development in the arson guy, that Dexter didn’t kill him. Looking for a trade with Deb so she would back off on Hannah. Well the ending certainly showed she is not... this is going to get interesting. Speaking of interesting, LaGuerta HAS zeroed in on Dexter but looks like Mathews is the one who is going to confront Dexter about it. Can’t wait to see that!

May I add LG is rather stupid? If I thought the BHB were alive and well in hangin' in Miami, and had just killed TM, I think I might be trying to find out as much about that night as possible... Like looking thru surveillance videos at nearby gas stations...

I wonder if the arson guy is the same guy as the arson investigator or if it is somebody else.
You have to figure that Hannah will either die this season or go somewhere else. I wonder who will die first. The guy that runs the club or the cop that likes the dancer. I wonder if Dexter will kill the guy that runs the club or not.
I believe we have 3 episodes left.

ZimC, good point on Isaak’s bodyguard, let his guard down too easy. I remembered from previous years’ posts you liked the Wild so I thought I’d ask. I think I’m going to attend a few Edmonton Oil King games to get my hockey fix.
DamPup, son of a gun, that IS interesting. You’re right... Mathews may have some info on Dex since he goes back to working with Harry. He has a vested interest... if LaGuerta wants his help, she’s going to have to reinstate him so he gets his full pension he says is due. Those two are a piece of work.
TuanCC, yes obviously the arson guy is the next challenge for Dex. My favourite is still Trinity aka John Lithgow.

Just caught up on the last 2 eps. I'm going to miss Issak, he was a good character. How touching he wanted to be with his lover Victor in death.
So it looks like the new creepy serial killer is that arson investigator. You've heard of Gaydar? Dexter has Killerdar, hahaha! He just senses killers.
Interesting theory about Mathews dam_pup!

Has Matthews known about Dexter all along, or will he find out along with Laguarda? Did Harry tell him? If so, LG will find herself in a 3 against 1 match-up.

Yes, Isaac's death came too quickly. I also thought it a bit far-fetched that his bodyguard would be so easily attacked by his captive. I would expect a bodyguard to be a little more cautious.
"I bet Dexter had some serious cleanup in the vehicle and boat... man... long hours to be a successful serial killer ;) "

ZimC, great to hear your comments... thanks! You missing hockey or not so much?
I watched this week’s episode last night and felt like I was short changed. Isaak’s death seemed really weird. Dexter offered help, but he said don’t bother, the bullet is still inside. What the heck does that mean? Then he goes on a long and I’m sure painful car ride then a boat ride to be put to rest at sea beside his lover. Dexter did mention he had something in his SUV for the pain, but I digress. I guess I don’t understand why Dexter didn’t just take him to the hospital? Maybe the obvious answer is they would be unable to explain HOW he got shot, but excluding the body in the water, tell them the guy from the club did it, Isaak gets reinstated and he and Dex are buddies forever *LOL*

"I really enjoyed Dexter and Isaak’s conversation in the gay bar... kept me riveted."
Yes, that was a great scene and I was really thinking Isaac and Dexter might have a friendly relationship under different circumstances. Mutual respect at least now. "So questions from this week, Leguerta is definitely onto Dexter and his boat but does she suspect Dexter or is she just confirming his boat was there?"
I think she's just running down leads and will continue to unravel a little more of the truth. I assume she will talk to Dex about it at some point and he will have some alibi to put her off the trail. Is Quinn going down the road to destruction?
Again, yes. He'll probably end up dead soon enough.
Is Deb totally going to lose it now that she admitted to Dexter she loves him?
I think her saying that says she already has lost it, at least in her mind.
