Good news and bad news.
Good news is that there will be Amazing Race 13.
Bad news is that this edition had not yet been filmed. Most likely the filming will be in Spring. In fact, the casting may not have been finalized.
Here is one article about the TAR 13.
Here is Wikipedia's info on TAR 13.

The outcome was fine but I would have liked Christina and Ron to win. T.K. and Rachel are good but they have been the same throughout the game. (Nothing bad about that.) Ron had changed dramatically in the race. I don't think there were any other contestants that had ever done that in Amazing Race (or in the ones that I had watched.)
Did anyone watched the video clips on the CBS site. All the previous contestants were very impressed with Ron and had lots of nice things to say about him and he really deserved it.

Thanks rjhaugh for the article on Nate and Jen, interesting read.

One of the things I wondering is if Nick and Don actually finished the last task or if they were given the go because there was no way they were going to even come in second.

It all comes down to editing. TAR lets you see what they want to. They try to get you to enjoy the show and have your nerves stand on end trying to figure who is going to finish first each week. They focus on the couples who fight while quietly allowing another team to sneak under the radar and win the million.

After 12 TARs, I still enjoy the show. While the shows all might start to blend in together, you still get the chance to see different task, different countries and get use to different people! I hope the show continues! Oh yeah, the taxis are always responsible for screwing a team.

(I know this is a considered a chick flick, but if you've never seen Sleepless in Seattle, you're missing out... and there is a hilarious scene in the movie revolving around MFEO)

I went back and watched the finish again, because I was curious about the time differential between the teams. Editing showed TK and Rachel being followed closely by Ron and Christina, but if you look at the shadows of the other teams that are waiting for them, there is quite a disparity in where they are cast. I would guess at least an hour, probably more. Then I looked at what they were when Nick and Don crossed the finish line and they were very close to Ron and Christina, less than a 1/2 hour between 2nd and 3rd.

Best wishes for TK & Rachel. I hope they will commit to a long life together and allow the money to let them do some things they couldn't have done otherwise, but not to make them different... they are both so down to earth that I would hate to see the money change them.

Ronald & Christina truly received a prize greater than the money on this incredible journey, may their relationship continue to flourish.

Nick & Donald have a lifetime of memories to charish. Nick will appreciate his grandfather for all that he taught him on this race.

I think all 3 teams did a good job. The last task was difficult, lots of possiblities. This does seem to be a trend now, recalling all the places you visited. Should be a heads up to the next season teams.

I am happy TK and Rachel won. They did not fight during the race. It was fun to watch them race. Ronald & Christina, Christina started to get a attitude, so I stopped liking them. I like Nicolas & Donald also. So I am happy with the winners for this race. So see you guys the next race, Amazing Race 13 !!

I thought Christina and Ron were a shoe in for the million, but Christina really blew figuring what came from where. Notgreen is right she was so close with only having one wrong originally. I am glad TK and Rachel won. They overcame a lot of things to win the cool million. Mainly they kept their cool throughout the race and worked together well unlike some of the other couples.

I have only watched this show for a few weeks and now I am hooked. Great finale. I am sure Christina thought they had this won, but she failed miserably in figuring out which items came from which country especially after she was only off by one originally.

Capt93 -- I agree that Don & Nick screwed up by not getting the bag of gear. If they didn't have to go back to get it, IMO, they would have finished the Detour before TK & Rachel, thereby moving them into 2nd place at the Road Block. I don't know if the extra time at the Road Block would have helped them since, as you said, we don't know how much further back behind Ron & Christina they were at the finish line.

I was pretty happy for TK and Rachel to win. Christina was getting a little annoying and was a bit too cocky at times.

"That final task was a tough one. Just listening to the directions it seemed like a lot of requirements to fulfill. But, I think if you have it written down in front of you it might be easier to complete."

I had no idea what all the different permutations were, just from hearing the one read of it. Rachel figured it out, almost by chance it would seem.

I was happy with the outcome last night. I think TK and Rachel played a good game, got a few lucky breaks when they needed it, and I don't remember them ever really bickering or whining!! I wonder how close it really was, seemed when they were in the taxi's that it was closer, but when they got to the finish it seemed like a long time before Ron and Christina showed up. I think there was some creative editing on this show to make it more tense. I'd like to know how long it took Nick and Don to finish. I was going to go back and look at the finish again and see what happened to the shadows of the people standing by the finish line. That final task was a tough one. Just listening to the directions it seemed like a lot of requirements to fulfill. But, I think if you have it written down in front of you it might be easier to complete.

I thought the jet boats through the glaciers was awesome, and it would have been nice to see more of the helicopter ride.

Last comment, Nick and Don screwed up with the gear bag, if it weren't for that I think it would have been much closer between the 3 teams. Thats all it takes at the end of the race to put you into 3rd place.

Well, it was a nail biting final episode with Ron & Christina leading up to the Road Block, where all 3 teams caught up. But it was Rachel who finished the RB first propelling TK & herself to a first place finish! Followed by Ron & Christina with Nick & Don in 3rd.

I think they showed the customs scene because Nate and Jen decided to change currency before going through customs and by the time they got into the customs line, the other two teams were ahead of them.

I agree with PKVol that Ron had changed a lot in the course of the race. Yes, he is not perfect yet but compare to the first leg of this race, he had changed a lot and the father and team are getting along pretty well. All teams argue at some point in time. It is just a matter of how much they do that. Usually the arguing gets worse near the end because the race is more intense and the finish line is much closer. So we have to give a big credit to Ron that he is able to hold back his comments. I am sure if he didn't change, it could be worst than Nate and Jen.
I do think the Thai food was an honest comment but we might not know.
As for the going through custom, Christina and Ron definitely have to go through it. Since there is no drama in their part, it doesn't make sense to show it. Also, depending of number of planes landing, the custom area could be fairly short if only one plane landed at that time while it gets pretty crowded when two or more planes landed one after the other.

I too was happy Jen & Nate finished last this week, I can live with any of the 3 remaining teams winning. Ronald has really come around on this season, which should be the objective for this show, get 2 people who want to race, but have some "issues" and see how well they get it together over the season. In that sense, Ronald and Christine have certainly "won" this season, regardless of how they finish the race. I too agree that Donald's age might keep them from winning, it all depends on how much they have to travel on foot, especially at the end, on the final leg. TK & Rachel, did get a break on making up the 3 hour deficit, but almost blew it by not finding the clue box right away. Wonder why TK "felt" like they were going in the right direction?

Good luck to all 3 teams on the final leg.

we too wondered if Nate and Jen screwed up by taking the subway and would have been penalized.

I heard that thai comment and looked at my wife, but then again maybe it was suppose to be a joke like Jessica Simpson and her chicken of the sea comment.

TAR always likes to focus on the fighting within a couple. Other than thinking Jen was hot and Nate reminds me of a friends son, I was tired of hearing the whining. With all the stress of a race like that there is probably no way around arguing.

I'm still amazed that grandpa is in the race, that was the first team I thought would be eliminated. they will be 3rd because grandpa slows them down.
I probably like Ron the least and they've came in first the last two times, so I'd say they won't win. I expected them to be second.
While I don't like Rachel because she reminds me of a little girl I can't stand, they are an easy go team and I pick them to win.

Did ron and daughter not have to, or did not go thru customs?

The best 3 teams are left. :)

I can't believe that both Nate and Jen were whiney this last episode.

I thought they were supposed to take a taxi to the pit stop. Wouldn't Nate and Jen have been penalized, or is there some flexibility?

I agree that the 3 teams that are left are deserving.

I missed the comment about Thai food. Darn. lol

No more Oh my Gosh edits. Gosh darn it.

I'm sure he HAD to have said the Thai food comment as a joke. Then again, maybe they are that stupid.

I was wondering why they made such a big deal of waiting in customs for the 3 teams that were behind. Did Ron & Christina just fly through so they didn't bother showing it? Or just another case of selective editing of a part of the race they rarely show.

R & C must be roughly 45-60 minutes ahead based on them making the earlier train to the last detour. I'm sure everything will be equalized on the flight to Alaska.

Is next week a 2 hour finale?
