Actually I voted for 31 to an hour but after re-reading it later noticed the weather factor and we were stuck for over 3 hours in a winter storm.

In the Toronto area it is easy to delay any drive by more than 30minutes with rain or construction (which goes on from the end of the last snow, to the start of the first flakes for next winter).

Jeff4u: I lived in Naples Italy from 1973 to 75. The whole country takes off work during August; everyone living downtown wants to head to the beach. There is a traffic standstill just about every way anyone turns during daylight hours (I loved living there; I'd go back to Italy to vacation in a minute if I had the $$$$$$)...

ə the longest i can remember was june 2006 on i-55 around st. louis just before the mississippi bridge into illinois. i sat in a parking lot for 55 minutes. there was massive road destruction on the other side of the bridge causing huge tie-ups. i've been in some of the highway traffic in chicago that slowed down intermittently but woud dbe going at full speed part of the time too so don't count it. i've been in some long train delays also but never that long. ə

An hour because of a bad accident (semi rear ending a car, three deaths) plus an additional half hour or so, as we were detoured onto a different road to bypass the scene. We didn't mind, from a distance it looked terrible.

Jeff4U, from what I've seen, living in Europe for 3 years, most other countries have real public transportation and fewer problems than we. Bet there are still exceptions even so.

For you commuters that have to work in Atlanta, I can imagine that being stuck in traffic must be a recurring weekly event.
