If you cant multitask then that text message, pic message, video message, facebook message, whatever message and call can wait while youre driving.

And we dont need more laws telling us that bit of common sense.

How much more inexpensive do you want? I bought a visor mount Motorola unit for under $30 online and it works great and is simple to operate.

we need easier and inexpensive ways to connect our phones to our cars to use them thru the radio or such as handsfree.

It is this generation. They are texting and talking all day long at my job. They are not work related calls or texts.

Yes, we need more laws. Don't adjust the radio; don't adjust the A C; don't adjust the defroster; don't talk to anyone in the car; don't shout at anyone outside the car; don't adjust the sunvisor; don't eat; don't drink; don't raise or lower the windows; STAY HOME!

technology is killing us??

or our we just killing ourselves through stupidity??

I've heard they put chemicals in the water (flouride and such) that actually make us docile and complacent to just sit around all day, drink beer, and watch men chase balls for 100 times our annual salary....

I think the vast majority of cell phone useage in vehicles is unnecessary. Whether hand held or hands free, it takes you mind off the task at hand.

I don't think laws are going to stop distracted driving. Vehicles need to stop having the extra distractions built in. That will at least prevent some of the accidents.

More laws?
How about cars that don't come with all the interactive toys.

I was hit in the rear by a hit and run driver, while I was sitting at the red light by a woman on the cellphone. Can you believe that?

Distracted driving does cause accidents. More laws to satisfy the Insurance companies is not the answer.

Hands free is much safer. And I don't mean having your neck bent over holding the phone to your ear.

There should be a ban on using a cell phone while driving. But it is hard when even the cops drive around on cell phones. Maybe the car makers can put signal resistance material in the car to block cell signals.
