If the oil leak is a sheen and NOT heavy clumps of oil floating on top of the water, then it's likely a natural oil leak from the bottom of the gulf. Hey – it happens and nature deals with it! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible! The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

Well, if nothing else some of the posts sure reflect the arrogance and ignorance that exists with oil company haters.
Turns out that Shell was right. Not their leak, just good old mother nature.
Of course with up to 200,000 tonnes (63 million + gallons) of oil seeping naturally into the Gulf each year, the odds were in their favor.
Seems like if the Gulf is able to clean up on its own 1,500,000 barrels of oil per year that the Gulf is remarkably resilient. Would not you agree? Of course the oil haters hate it when they find out mother nature is the source.

It's not "10 square miles of seepage".
Oil spreads in a very thin layer on top of the water. Oil seeping from the earth will come out in a small, localized area, float to the surface, and then spread with the help of currents and wind.

10 square miles of seepage seems a little excessive.

I cant believe the amount of skeptics out there, who think seepage is nonexistent.

They can positively rule out a long-abandoned well in that location? Seems unlikely.

History tip... That is why they started drillining offshore in 1947, because of natural seepage of oil from the floor of the Gulf of Mexico!!!!!. Check history of offshore drilling :)

That's how Edwin Drake started the oil business in Pennsylvania. He started drilling where oil was seeping to the surface.

It is all questionable. Why would 6 barrels just let go. More likely somebody dropped 6 barrels worth out of a ship.
